Obituary of Brenda Barnes Miller

BRENDA  B.  MILLER

Gray-  Brenda Barnes Miller, 59, of Gray, went home to be with her Savior early Friday morning (September 21, 2018) at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.  Brenda was from Piney Flats and had resided in Bloomingdale, Fall Branch, and most recently in Gray.  She spent over 32 years in the financial industry having been with Merrill Lynch the past several years.  At Merrill Lynch she was widely recognized for her exceptional client service.  Brenda truly loved outdoor activities where she not only excelled, but helped all around her to be better as well.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch and served in many capacities at the church. Her hope in life was that everything she did would Glorify God. 

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Dot Barnes and an infant sister.    

Brenda Miller is survived by her loving and devoted  husband of 40 years, Wesley Miller; her father, Harold Barnes;  brothers, Lynn Barnes (Cathy), Dean Barnes (Kim); a sister, Ruth Bowman (Dennis);  a niece, Jennifer Barnes and many special friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday (September 25, 2018) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.  A celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Tuesday (September 25, 2018) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Phil Whittemore, officiating.  A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday (September 26, 2018) at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch.  Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Cook, Larry Coomer, Shawn Cutshall, Sam Gammon, Fred Hammond, Phil Horner,  Jimmy Jones, Ed LeClaire,  and Butch Payne.a  Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 3217, Kingsport, TN 37664 or to the charity of one’s choice.
