Obituary of Thelma Jo Jennings

Kingsport – Thelma Jo Jennings, 83 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018 following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a longtime member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Jennings; her parents, Isaac and Salina Hughes Dean; two sisters and seven brothers.

 

Jo is survived by her daughter, Tracy Wright and husband Mike; son, Tony Jennings and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Lauren Leonard and husband Nathan, Blake Jennings and Breanna Wright; great-grandson, Nate Leonard; several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.

 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.

 

A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Meade officiating.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynn Garden Baptist Church (Building Fund) 301 May Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37665 or to the Sullivan County Humane Society, 380 Masengill Road, Blountville, TN 37617.
