Obituary of C. Deloris Winegar

DELORIS  WINEGAR

Kingsport-  C. Deloris Winegar, 88, moved to Heaven peacefully at home surrounded by a host of family on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.                  Deloris was born to Sydney and Bertha Calloway Wilson on October 2, 1930 in Bluefield W VA. She loved growing up with her siblings Bobby, Phyllis, and Drexie.

On January 11, 1946, Deloris went on a blind date with John (Jube) Winegar and three weeks later on February 1, 1946 they were married.  She spent the next 54 years loving that man of hers.  Deloris was a woman of great strength who showered the love of her Lord on all she encountered.  She was a cherished sister, mom, Mamaw, and friend.  She loved to sing, make crafts, and cook for her family.  She was a retired bookkeeper at Oakwood Markets.  Deloris attended Calvary Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jube, son David, granddaughter Haleigh, and brother Bobby. 

She is survived by her son Sam (Patty), daughter Debbie Norris, son Mike (Janet), daughter Becky Mann (Buzzy), and daughter-in-law Sarah Winegar.  Deloris was proud to be called Mamaw by her grandchildren Kristy (Donnie), Chris (Ashley), Michelle (Kenny), John (Amanda), Heather, Haleigh (deceased), Austin (Lauren), Adam (Laura), and Andrew.  Great-grandchildren Callie (Alec), Hunter, Annaleigh, Lilliana, Grayson, Jackson, Jonathan, and Daniel.  Her great-great grandson Jaxon.  Sisters Phyllis Bailey and Drexie (Kenneth) Key.  Herb (Uvelyn) Winegar and Helen (Paul) Kindle may be inlaws but were siblings in her heart along with love in her heart for Randy Norris.

The family would like to extend a heart of thanks to Dr. Dan Carroll for being a faithful doctor and friend, along with a cherished friend Cheryl Gibson, Meals on Wheels, and Smoky Mountain Hospice.

The family will receive friends at Carter-Trent Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.  The family will have a private celebration of life and graveside on Saturday, December 8th at Oak Hill Cemetery.
