Obituary of Oneda B. Duncan
Oneda Beaulah Duncan, age 81, of Weber City, VA, passed from this life on Friday, December 14, 2018 and entered into eternal rest forever to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born December 17, 1936 to parents Kermit and Janie Phelps who resided in Russell County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Janie Phelps; husband, Charles C. Duncan; brother, Sebern Phelps; and sister, Virginia Vicars.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Hale and Linda (Woodrow) Akers; grandson, Cavin Hale; brothers, Oneil Phelps, Paul (Christine) Phelps and Jim (Geraldine) Phelps; sisters, Dorothy Turner and Wilma Phelps; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts and gardening. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, and she will be greatly missed. We know we will meet again one glorious day.
She was a member of Salley’s Chapel Baptist Church and sang with the Salley’s Chapel Trio for several years. She loved her church family and the Lord and was a great inspiration.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor George Winegar officiating. Interment will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
