Obituary of William Robert Montgomery

William Robert Montgomery, age 63, passed away on December 22, 2018 in a local hospital surrounded by his family and friends.  Known as “Bubba,” “Willie,” and “Smoke” by his loved ones and friends, William was a resident of Kingsport, TN and a graduate of Tennessee Technological University.  He worked in sales and production in Florida and Tennessee, but had recently retired.  He remained a landlord until his death.

William was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Lucy Montgomery.

William leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Nickolas Robert Montgomery (Colleen) of Wytheville VA; his sisters Shirley Weaver (George) of Greensboro, GA, Susie Montgomery (Mike) of Kingsport TN, and his brother Bobby (Denise) of Kingsport, TN. William is also remembered with love by previous spouses Kathiann Montgomery and Deborah Montgomery, and special friend Jessie Smith. 

William loved life, his family and his friends.  He enjoyed softball, fishing and darts and hanging with his friends at the river.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on December 29, 2018 at the Carter-Trent Funeral home downtown, Kingsport.  Guests will be received from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with the service to directly follow.
