Obituary of Pat Edward Davis Sr.

Pat Edward Davis, Sr., 86, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Nova Health and Rehab. During his childhood he was a member of Hortons Chapel United Methodist Church and he later attended Ida Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher. Pat served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for E.F. Blankenship Company as a bridge superintendent and later retired from VDOT.

Pat was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Davis; parents, Frank and Leona Davis; brother, Harold Davis; sister, Frances Davis.

Survivors include his son, Pat Davis Jr. and wife Donita; brother, Cecil Davis; sisters-in-law, Edna Davis and Mamie Riddle; brother-in-law, Billy Flanary; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Larry Stallard and Bro. Pat Davis Jr. officiating. Music will be provided by Jack Stallard.

A military graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery with the honors conducted by American Legion Hammond post #3/265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
