Obituary of Doris Tucker Dinsmore

Doris Tucker Dinsmore, 82, of Kingsport passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 8, 2019 following a brief illness.  Doris was born on February 17, 1936 in Abingdon, VA.  She graduated from Lynn View High School in 1954 and worked at Eastman prior to her marriage to Don Dinsmore 62 years ago.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Elise Tucker and brother Donnie.

Doris was an active member of Mountain View UMC where she sang in the choir for many years.  She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.  Doris loved music, composed fine poetry, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.  She collected angels and loved puzzles/games.

Survivors include her husband Don Dinsmore, Sons David Dinsmore and wife Kathy, Daniel Dinsmore, Darrell Dinsmore and wife Alesia, Daughter Donna Patrick and husband David, step sister-in-law Sharon Salyer and husband Ron.  She also leaves behind 11 precious grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mountain View UMC on Sunday, January 13 at 2pm.  Reverend Sam Ward is officiating.  A reception will follow at 3pm in the church Fellowship Hall. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View UMC, 4405 Orebank Rd, Kingsport TN  37664.
