Obituary of Janet Kay Roberts

Janet (Jan) Kay Holland Roberts

KINGSPORT – Janet (Jan) Kay Holland Roberts (65) went to be with her Lord and Savior and many loved ones on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.  She was born in Kingsport and spent all her life here.  Jan worked in the medical field for 30 plus years.  She worked at Holston Valley Hospital in the cancer tumor registry and at John Deere Health Care.  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Jan was a member of Celebration Church in Blountville.  She was very creative with crafts, home decorating, scrapbooking , flower arranging ,party and wedding planner.  If she would have had a platform on which to make a speech, it would have been titled:  Just Do What is Right and Fair. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Wilma Milburn Holland. 

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, George Ronald (Ronnie) Roberts; her step-daughter, Ronda Michelle Peters (Glen); grandchildren, whom she loved more than life, Chandler, Corey, and Carsyn Peters; brother, Gary Holland; sister, Shaune Eberhart (Jerry);  sister-n-law,  Joan Needham (Jackie);  nieces, Brandi Castillo (Chuck), Jessica Holland, Erin Lynch (Daniel),  Emily Sikora (Russell), Stephanie Trent (Chris);  nephews, Craig Needham (Kathy), Jonathan Needham (Bernadette), Scott Roberts and Brian Roberts.  She has 19 great nieces and nephews, and many aunts and cousins.   

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter Trent downtown, Kingsport.  Funeral services will follow with Rev. Craig Needham officiating. 

Burial will be at 2:30pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.   Pallbearers will be Glen Peters, Corey Peters, Jerry Eberhart, Gary Holland, Jackie Needham, and Jonathan Needham. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:20pm.
