Obituary of Phillip "Phil" Brent Larkin
Phil Larkin
Phillip (Phil) Brent Larkin, 63, of Kingsport passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, February 24, 2019 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, a master machinist, and in most recent years an employee of his lifelong friend, James Rhea, at Rhea Construction. Phil enjoyed NASCAR racing, recreation on the local lakes and spending time with family and friends.
Phil was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at a young age.
Phil was preceded in death by his father, Mack Larkin, Jr.; sister-in-law, Melissa Larkin; paternal grandparents, Mack and Flora Larkin, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Moore.
Phil is survived by his loving mother, Leola (Moore) Larkin; son, Matthew Larkin and wife Riki of Morristown; daughter, Katrina Larkin and Eli Storey of Hartford, TN; grandchildren, Leighton and Caden (Matthew and Riki) and Lenox (Katrina and Eli); brother, Gary Larkin of Kingsport; nephew, Lucas Larkin of Kingsport; several aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 4 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Charles Buckner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to St Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
