Obituary of Donald E. McMurray

Donald E. McMurray 85, of Kingsport went on to sing with the Angels on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Donald was an avid musician and especially enjoyed playing his guitar. He worked at Holliston Mills for 36 years before his retirement. Donald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucille McMurray; brother, Clarence McMurray; sister, Ivalene Arrington.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Gray McMurray; sons, David Wesley McMurray and Walter “Grayson” McMurray; granddaughters, Hannah McMurray and Jenny Robinson; grandson, Wesley McMurray; sister, Eva Pendergrass; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport.  A graveside service will follow at Gunning’s Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
