Obituary of Vera Joy Kaylor

Gray, TN – Vera Joy Kilgore Kaylor, 80 of Gray, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2019 at her residence following a long illness. Born in Lakeview, GA, to the late Eugene Vernon Kilgore and Mary Jo Ault Kilgore on March 11, 1938, she had lived in Gray for the past 20 years. She graduated from Lakeview High School (class of 1956) and from UT Chattanooga. Vera was employed by TVA, Illinois Bankers Association and Northwestern University. She owned and operated the Primrose Cottage Book Store and Gift Shop for 30 years. Her hobbies were reading and gardening.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Kaylor.

 

Vera is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cecil V. Kaylor.

 

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN

 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery (Missionary Ridge), 1954 Greenwood Road, Chattanooga, TN. Pastor Jim Elder of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church of Rossville, GA will officiate.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation, 1340-1272 North Great Neck Road #193, Virginia Beach, VA 23454.
