Obituary of Marvin Monroe

Marvin Monroe of the Yuma Community passed away on Friday evening March 29, 2019. Marvin served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He retired from Appalachian Power Company.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Winnie Monroe; brothers, Doug and Colen Monroe; sister, Wilma Dotson; infant brother and sister.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Monroe; son, Chris Monroe and wife Stephanie; 2 precious granddaughters, Savannah and Lauren; sisters, Agnes Lucas, Sharon Glover, and Judy Taylor and husband Herman; sister-in-law, Myrna Monroe.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
