Obituary of Mary Teresa Davis Burrell
Jonesborough- Mary Teresa Davis Burrell, 55, of Jonesborough, was carried away by angels late Sunday night (April 28, 2019) at Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of this area. Mary was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. She worked at ARA Vending for many years. Mary was a wonderful cook and she especially loved canning. She truly loved her husband and children and she made them her world! She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ray and Euna Davis; her sisters, Margaret Davis and Melissa Kern.
Mary Burrell is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jeremiah Burrell; her children, Adam Burrell, Mikayla Burrell, and Marisa Burrell; a sister, Marilyn Slaughter and husband, Bill; a best friend, Sheila Jennings; her mother-in-law, Carol Hensley; a step-mother-in-law, Linda Burrell along with several nieces, nephews, and additional family members.
A visitation will be held on Thursday (May2, 2019) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at her residence. A celebration of life service will be conducted on Thursday (May 2, 2019) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Todd Jennings, officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday (May 3, 2019) at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
