Obituary of Janelle Luster

JANELLE  V.  LUSTER

Jonesborough-  Janelle V. Luster, 80, formerly of the Bloomingdale Community met her Lord and Savior peacefully at Four Oaks Health Care following a lengthy illness.  She was a long time and faithful member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church until her health would not allow her to attend on a regular basis.  Janelle taught Sunday School and sang in the choir and especially enjoyed being in the JOY Ladies Class.   Her greatest joys in life were the sounds of children’s laughter and being with her church family.   She loved to always spend time with her immediate and extended family.  Mrs. Luster was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bobby Luster; her parents, William and Matilda Hilton; brothers, Mason, Manuel, and Ishmael  Hilton; sisters, Clotsie Cottrell, Theresa Wolfe, Clementine Elderidge, and Yvonne Gibson. 

Janelle Luster is survived by her sons, Robert Luster and wife, Lisa, Shaun Luster and his special daughter, Gracie Elise Luster; several additional grandchildren and great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday (May 20, 2019) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the son, Robert.  A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday (May 19, 2019) in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Foster, officiating.  Music will be provided by her nephew, Dan Gibson.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday (May 21, 2019) at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.  Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m.  The family would like to “Thank” the wonderful staff at Four Oaks Healthcare for the special care given to her over the past few years.  In lieu of flowers, memorial  contributions may be made to Back Country Horsemen of East Tennessee (Buckaroos Children’s Program), c/o Jamie Fritsch, 205 Bridgewater Court, Johnson City, TN 37615 or visit www.bchet.org.   You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.   Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Luster family.
