Obituary of Norris Franklin Price
Norris Franklin Price 85, of Rogersville went to be with the Lord on Friday June 7, 2019 surrounded by his family and friends. Norris served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an inventor and tinkerer who held two U.S. Patents for a Super Grader and Mortar Runner. Norris also designed Horse Fence ham radio antennas. He enjoyed family gatherings as well as dirt track racing and talking on his ham radio.
Norris was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Price; son, Mike Price; parents, Clarence and Rosa Price; sister, Ruth Allen; brothers, J.C. Price and Earl Price.
Survivors include his son, Mark Price and wife Diana; daughters, Melanie Harrell and husband John, Lisa Powell and husband Jeff, Amy Boggs and husband Rex; grandchildren, Shawn Price, Kelli Adinolfi and husband Aaron, Emily Peterson and husband Kyle, Lynsey Powell, Casey Price and wife Natalie, Kaitlyn Price, and Allie Powell; brothers, William Price and wife Jean, Dennis Price and wife Carol, and Don Price and wife Phyllis; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A funeral service will follow with Josh Rector officiating.
The family will also receive friends anytime at his grandson (Casey’s) home.
A military graveside service will be conducted at 12pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens with the honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:15am to go in procession to the cemetery.
