Obituary of Lucille Begley Cavin
Lucille Begley Cavin, age 92, of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2019 at her home. She was a member of McPheeter’s Bend Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. She has a special love for her pet dog, Ginger. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hobert Cavin; daughter, Helen Faye Crain; parents, Worley and Laura Ruth Begley; sisters, Juanita Courtney, Vicie Taylor, Lola Williams, Ellizabeth Walker, Eileen Johnson and Birdie Herron; and brother, Harriell Lee Begley.
She is survived by her son, James Ray “Snake” Cavin; daughters, Hilda Tapp and Kris Lumpkins (Randy); sisters, Evelyn Simpson (Vinson), Diana Minor, Bonnie Watkins and Iva Dell Greer; special friend and neighbor, Harold Monroe; grandchildren, Dawn Clark (Steve), Lance Crain, Daniel Tapp (Heather), Jamie Tapp, Nikki Skeen, Tonya Lord and Wade Lumpkins (Kayla); 7 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill or anytime at her residence. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Dr. Larry R. Parrott officiating. Interment will follow at McPheeter’s Bend Cemetery.
