Obituary of Faye Irene Leach-Mitchell

Faye Leach-Mitchell, 96, of Johnson City, TN went to be with the lord on September 24, 2019.  She was born to the late Herman & Nora Broyles December 23, 1922, in Washington County, TN.  She was married to the late Eugene Leach from 1947 to 1976 and to the late Glenn Mitchell from 1978 to 2009.

Faye is survived by two daughters: Karen Stevens-Hurley & husband Doug, of Jonesborough, TN; and Candy Roberts & husband Bob, of Colorado Springs, CO.; her nieces and nephews George Durman, Gary Durman, Judy Fleming, Lennis Everett, Sherri Smith, Ronnie Riddle, Donna Pack, Vickie Broyles, Teresa Kilday, and a host of grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Faye is predeceased by two sisters: Susie Durman & husband Ray, Ina Riddle & husband Howard; three brothers: Darrell Broyles & wife Wilma, Don Broyles & wife Genevieve, Glen Broyles & wife Joyce; and her son-in-law Sam Stevens.

Faye was best known and beloved for her spunky and feisty personality.  Faye loved to crochet, was an active bowler over the years, loved her time on the lake with her family and was an avid reader.  She was a member of First Christian Church in Johnson City, and in later years attended Lighthouse Baptist Church with her family.  Faye lived an exemplary life and taught her family by example.  She was smart, strong and confident.  Faye is deeply loved and will forever live in the hearts of her adoring family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4th, 2019 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church, located at 1916 Highway 81 S in Jonesborough, TN.  A celebration of life will follow with Pastor Perry Cleek and Evangelist Charles “Toonie” Cash officiating.   Music will be provided by Doug Hurley and Brenda Davis.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Monte Vista Memorial Park, located at 1900 E Oakland Ave. in Johnson City, TN.  Active pallbearers will be Gary Durman, Doug Hurley, Anthony Hurley, and Bob Roberts.  Honorary pallbearers will be George Durman and Ronnie Riddle. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
