Obituary of Juanita Milhorn

Juanita Blevins Milhorn, 96, of Kingsport passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 following a brief illness. As a small statured woman, she was anything but small, attesting to the fact that size does not matter. Her approach to life was testimony to the importance of sharing your opinions, being honest, and taking care of people, plants and animals around you. She kept everyone fed, and on point, and she could tell you a story about just about any corner you might pick to ask her about in the Tri-Cities area. With particular attention to details, and a deep appreciation for the flora and fauna of East Tennessee, she taught all of her grandchildren to value the small things, to care for others, and above all, she taught us all to be bold and live life fully. She possessed a private but deep faith in God, and navigated her life with both grace and determination. She was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Milhorn; parents, Henry and Thelma Blevins; and brother, Bill Blevins.

Survivors include her son, Mike Milhorn and wife Lisa Anne of Kingsport; daughter, Gayle Childress and husband Raymond of Hampstead, NC; grandchildren, Michael Milhorn and wife Wendy, Traci Childress and husband Florian Schwarz, Ashley Rozanski and husband Matt; great-grandchildren, Hayley Childress, Ryleigh Milhorn, Jonas Schwarz, Landon Rozanski and  Elias Schwarz.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at East Lawn Memorial Park. The eulogy will be given by Juanita’s granddaughter, Traci Childress. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 am.
