Obituary of John Raymond Campbell

Mt Carmel – John Raymond Campbell, 81 of Mt Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2019.

Born in Carter County, TN, he had been a resident of this area for most of his life. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of several Round and Square Dance Clubs. He was employed for 25 years with the Kingsport Press and worked at his dairy farm. Later, he retired from Banta Southeastern where he worked as a pressman. John also worked as a cashier at Food City in Church Hill. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Myrtle Campbell; son, Scott Campbell; daughter, Melissa Greene;

John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Marsh Campbell of the home; daughters, Renee Allen and husband Kirk of Elizabethton and Juli Presley and husband Keith of Knoxville; son, Jon Campbell and husband Sam Cabrera of Corpus Christi, TX; step-daughter, Amanda Dean and husband Grayson Presnell of Kingsport; son-in-law, Ray Greene; special daughter, Paula Dillon; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 311 Cypress Street, Mt Carmel, TN.

A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the church with Pastor Todd Haley and Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Music will be provided by Laura Morris, Michelle Archer,  Abby Presnell and Kirk Allen.
