Obituary of Louella Faye Shipley

Gate City – Louella Faye McConnell Shipley, 84 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She had lived most of her life in Scott County, VA. And was retired from Kingsport Press

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Shipley; parents, Herbert and Goldie Gillenwater McConnell; brother, Odell McConnell; sister, Vivian Novella White.

Louella is survived by her daughter, Linda Holbrook; granddaughter, Shannon Holbrook; brother, Gene McConnell and wife Phyllis.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 Monday, January 27, 2020 at Scott County Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. G. W. White officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 pm.
