Obituary of Robert "Bob" L. Dillard

Robert “Bob” L. Dillard, 80, of Kingsport went to sleep in Jesus’ name on Monday, April 6, 2020 at his home with all of his family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was known by many as being a great friend and well known bee keeper. He was a faithful member of Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Ellen Josie Lane Dillard; his daughter, Bobbie Jo Barr; grandson, Ricky Ray Henry; parents, Ed Dillard and Betty Spears Dillard Gibson; and brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Dillard.

Bob is survived by his four children, Tonia Tomlin and husband Greg, Darrell Dillard and wife Sheila; Lisa Herring and husband, Brian; James Dillard and wife, Kim; son-in-law, Jeff Barr; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Chuck Dillard; sisters, Wanda Harris and Phyllis Rader; along with several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current circumstances with COVID-19 services will be private.

Friends may call or drop by the home of the daughter, Lisa Herring.

A graveside service will take place at Sulphur Springs Community Cemetery with Bro. Everette Lett officiating.
