We mourn the loss of such a respectable friend and colleague. Wayne was a true gentleman and an example to all that knew him. I enjoyed the time we had to talk and visit at the TN Sheriffs' Association training events. My thoughts and prayers go out to family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in law enforcement. May God comfort each of you with the moments we each shared with Wayne.
Respectfully,
Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe, Ret. Dickson County Sheriff's Office

Peggy, we are so sorry to hear Wayne passed away. He was a special person and everybody will miss him. He worked for Ted on the Kingsport Police Department until he was elected Sheriff and was a good friend. He gave my first husband, Ed Wolfe a White German Dog and we enjoyed him until he died. Wayne is in a better place and we will see him again.

We are so sorry for your loss. Wayne was a good person and loved his work. I only wished he had retired sooner and enjoyed some retirement time. He was Mom's favorite nephew - she told me that several times. If there is anything at all we can do for you, please call and we will be there.

I am so sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was most frequently the KPD sergeant when my shift was dispatching, and he was wonderful to work with. I had only seen him a few times in recent years when he came to the Blount County Law Enforcement Academy graduations, and I have missed him. Wayne was always glad to listen and provide advice, both about work and personal issues. My deepest sympathies to Peggy the Anderson family, and the KPD/SCSO families.

I have such good memories of Wayne from our years in law enforcement. From midnights searching buildings with his canine, to his leadership and support of investigations conducted with the sheriff’s office, and his years of strong endorsement and mentoring for college education. Wayne was a highly respected member of our law enforcement community and I’m proud to remember him as a colleague and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of sadness.

I first met Sheriff Wayne Anderson when he was a Sgt. at the Kingsport Police Department and he had Ike with him. He took the time to explain how law enforcement worked and the right way to treat people. He later went on to be the Sheriff of Sullivan County. I had the pleasure of playing an instrument in the Sheriff's band called "Law and Grace". We had a lot of fun times and got to share the gospel through songs at many churches throughout the area. Wayne was a true friend and I will miss him so very much. I'm praying for Peggy and his family during this difficult time. I salute you, my friend!

Cousin Peggy, I reget to learn that your fine, godly husband, Wayne Anderson left this world. I am, however, glad, in the everlasting mindset, that he is HOME! We will join him at HOME in time. Then, I will shake his hand and salute him, for his service, as a godly man and Christian, to his Lord, his family, and his country. Your parents, my aunt and uncle, are having a wonderful time, talking with your husband now, as I type this. I regret that the miles between us exist. One of these days, as I hope, a Ferrell reunion can bring all the extended family of Marion and Gertrude Ferrell together. Until then, I love you, my dear cousin!

With great sadness, I learned of the passing of Wayne. I had the honor of working with him at Kingsport PD from 1987 to 1990. He truly was a servant to his fellow man and truly cared about everyone. He was a good man, an honest police officer and a trusted friend who served as a role model to many. He is and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
May God comfort your aching hearts and fill your memories with many happy times with this great man. We were blessed to have him in our lives.

Peggy and Anderson family my heart and prayers go out to all of you, I know it’s a difficult time right now but the great thing is we all know Wayne is in the presence of all mighty God and in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I worked under Sheriff Anderson’s tenure for 20 years of my 28 year career, he was always so good to me, treated me like a friend and not like an employee, always made sure he spoke or waved to me when he saw me. I will always remember him calling me Corvette boy, we always talked about his 69 Corvette and my Corvette. When I went through a difficult time losing my mom I will always remember how kind and compassionate he was to me and my family, he called me two or three times to check on me and to say he was praying for me, but most of all I will remember the times we would talk about God and our Lord and Savior who he is witnessing right this moment, and I know he has that big smile on his face. Peggy just keep in your heart and thoughts that one day when you make your Journey to our Fathers Heavenly home Wayne will be there waiting on you to walk through that narrow gate to eternity with no more separation. God Bless You and your family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank You Sheriff Anderson for your years of service, it was a pleasure to work under your watch !
