Obituary of Josephine Margaret Jennings

Kingsport – Josephine Margaret “Jo” Barry Jennings, 95 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the residence of her daughter, Linda with whom she had made her home for the last 3 years. Born in Morrisonville, IL she had lived most of her married life in Childersburg, Alabama. Josephine was a devout Catholic and was loved by her friends. She loved to use her computer, read her Kindle, loved music and old movies, and working jigsaw puzzles. She will be remembered for her sweet nature and sense of humor.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William C. Jennings; son, Michael Jennings and wife Jane; grandson, Scott Jennings; her parents, two sisters and a brother.

 

Josephine is survived by her son, William J. Jennings (Malee) of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Linda Lewis (Ken) of Kingsport and Stephen A. Jennings of Athens, AL; grandchildren, Nicholas Jennings, Courtney Jennings, Kevin Jennings (Eirene), Daniel Lewis ( Cory) and Katie Lewis; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee.

 

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Childersburg, Alabama.
