Obituary of Cindy Thompson Parker

Cindy Thompson Parker 45, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a 1994 graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School and later graduated from Kingsport Beauty School. Cindy worked as a beautician for 25 years at several salons in the area. Cindy was a member of Springdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, music, and making jewelry for her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Cindy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jack B. “Papaw” Cox; paternal grandfather, Ray L. “Papaw” Thompson; maternal grandmother,  Lucy Cox; paternal great-grandmother, Lula “Mammy” Conkin; step-mother, Sandra W. Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, James B. Parker; mother, Jane Cox Thompson; father, Marvin Thompson; sister, Christy Thompson Tester; grandmother, Dolores Thompson; niece, Brianna Rogers; step- great-grandmother, Estelle Patton; special aunt and uncle, Carol and Jim Fritz; along with several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Due to Covid-19 a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Thompson/Parker.
