I've known Sis. Donna since I was 8, and we stayed with them often when we came down to Kingsport on vacation or for a fellowship meeting. But what I know most about Sis. Donna is the love she had for God, her church, and the people who attended her church, no matter where that church was. She was a servant to all of God's people. The care, concern, and prayers she extended to those in and out of the church knew no limits. Such a godly woman, who will be sorely missed.

This world lost a gleaming jewel this week when Sister Donna passed! She was always the same every time I ran into her. She really cared about others and what they were going through despite her own difficulties.
I remember loving to hear her sing when I was a teenager at Gospel Assembly. Her and Al were the best couple! Praying for Duane and Jean and all the family!

I loved Sis. Donna. She was such a great woman. She taught me so much in my life. She was our teacher for charm school. I can remember going upstairs in the sanctuary and walking the aisle with books on our heads learning how to walk like ladies! She taught me how to be a lady, how to walk like a lady and talk like a lady, how to set a table, how to answer the phone, but most of all she taught me how to love people, no matter who they were or where they came from. I didn’t get to spend many years with her but she was so happy to make me an usherette and to train me well in being a good Christian woman. I loved singing with her at the band jams later in life, she would always smile so big and say” There is my singing buddy”. I will miss her so much but oh the reward she has laid up for her. I cannot wait to see her on that great getting up morning in the dew of her youth with her new glorified body! No more sickness, no more suffering, no more sadness, no more pain! I can still hear her singing Chosen in God and There will be shouting in the hills of Glory!! We will meet again and I hope I get to sing with her one more time!

Tribute to my sweet Aunt Donna:
How often we hear the term “He/she was the salt of the earth”. What does this mean? Salt’s primary function is to flavor and preserve. In baking, it plays a crucial chemistry role. It strengthens dough. It helps bind and blend together all the ingredients, creating flavor and balance, so no one ingredient over powers the other. That was Aunt Donna in the lives of all who knew her. She added flavor to friendships, and preserved those friendships. She added strength and balance to friendships. Friendship with Aunt Donna stood the test of time.
Aunt Donna was a servant among men. She put others first, sometimes to the detriment of her own health. If anyone was in need, Donna was there. She loved God with all her heart, and loved her neighbor as herself. She daily fulfilled the two commandments required of us. Her love for others was pure and unselfish. It was never, “what can you do for me”, but “what can I do for you”. She didn’t require accolades and recognition. She did things because it was the right thing to do.
Stories she told of mom and her never grew old to listen to. They are back together creating more stories and mischief. You both can sing “I’ve Got A Mansion”, again!
You will be sorely missed, creating a huge hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Enter into your rest. You were weary in body, but never in spirit.

So very sad to hear of Donna's passing. We became friends when she came to Kroger and I assisted her at the self scan check out. We had a lot of interesting conversations that could have lasted for hours. Donna was a Godly woman that will have many rewards in heaven. I look forward to seeing her again someday so we can continue where we left off sharing many fun talks. I will always remember Donna and cherish our friendship.
