Obituary of Sandra Fay Roland

Sandra Fay Roland, 75, entered into rest on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Nova Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.

Sandra Roland lived a very interesting life from picking cotton in Georgia as a child, making a career as a florist, working with family at her brothers Upholstery Shop, motherhood, being a grandmother and a Gardener, “Those Ain’t Weeds – They are God’s flowers”.

She loved to sing, listen to 50’s gospel and bluegrass music and oh how she loved to dance!

Many feel the loss of her not being on earth, but she will live forever within the stories and hearts of all who came into her world and saw her contagious smile.

The last 3 years she resided at Nova Health and Rehab in Virginia.  She met many wonderful friends there and to her they weren’t considered as staff, “They are all my family here”.  We can not express our most heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, compassion, chats, and dances up through the halls!  We will always greatly appreciate each and every one of you!

The sunshine of her life the last 11 years was one of her great-grandsons, Braden “Batman” Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. (John Dewey) and Leccie Bacon Roland;  son, John Kenneth Fountain;  siblings, Danny, Melba, Blanton, D.W., Ginny, Ernest and Shirley.

Surviving are her children, Susan Wilson, David Fountain, Tracey Gallman and Rebecca Coley;  9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren;  brother, Tommy Roland;  90 year old Uncle, Virgil B. Roland;  many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children.

No formal services are planned at this time.

Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA is serving the Roland family.
