Obituary of Samuel Henry Horton

Samuel Henry (Sammy) Horton, 57, of Gate City, VA passed away Friday November 11. 2022 at Holston Valley Hospital. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Dicie Horton; brother, Billy Horton.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Samuel Owens; daughters, Samantha Horton and Tamara Brewington; grandchildren, Kirsten Tate, Devin Tate, Lily Brewington, Kaysey Smith, Jadyn Smith, Aiden Horton and Sammi Owens; mother of his children, Brenda Owens; good friends, Dana Akers and Doug Edwards; several more friends; sisters, Mary (Phillip) Carr, Betty (Mike) Steffey, Rida (James) Hatmaker; brothers, Stevie and Dave Horton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Scott County Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow with Bro. Dennis Grizzle officiating.
