Obituary of John Henry Davis

John Henry Davis, 84, of Gate City, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at his home.

John was born in Scott County, VA on April 30, 1938, a son of the late Lucian and Rachel Sarah Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Ann Davis; son, Todd Davis; siblings, Mildred Owen, Eva Joe McDavid, Barbara McDavid, Judy Davis, Billy Davis, Fred Davis and Ronnie K. Davis.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathy (Dan) Vanden Bosch; sons, Johnny (Donna) Davis, Ronnie Davis and Barry (Denise) Keeley; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donnie (Marilyn) Davis and Mattie Reach; special cousin, Ella Weis; special friend, Orbin Lane.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Scott County Funeral Home. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Denny Hass officiating. Music will be provided by the Kern Sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Davis Family Cemetery, 204 Sweet Gum Dr., Gate City, VA 24251. Everyone planning to attend are asked to assemble at 10:00 am at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
