Obituary of Terry "Jack" Colbaugh

Terry “Jack” Colbaugh, age 68 of Kingsport, entered into eternity on Thursday, June 8, 2023.  Jack was born on September 9, 1954, in Elizabethton, TN to Tyler and Wilma Colbaugh.  Jack proudly served his country for 25 years in the United States Navy.  During his time in the Navy, Jack was a nuclear engineer on submarines.  On July 24, 2015, Jack married Julia Riggs and after almost eight years of a beautiful life together, she survives. 

Jack loved life.  In his spare time, you could find him tinkering around in his garage doing some sort of woodworking.  Jack also enjoyed boating and spending time with his family. 

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his best dog, “Luna”; and numerous aunts and uncles.  Those left to cherish Jack’s memory are his loving wife, Julia Riggs; daughter, Kara Flinn-Colbaugh; brother, Tyler Colbaugh and husband Barry Hounshell; sister, Teresa Honeycutt and husband Mike; and his snuggle buddy, “Shank”. 

A private military honors graveside service will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery.  A memorial service celebrating Jack's life will be held in California at a later date.
