Obituary of Thelma Lane Kendrick
THELMA LANE KENDRICK
Kingsport- Thelma Lane Kendrick, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday night (August 6, 2018) following a brief illness. She was born in Scott County, VA and had resided the majority of her life in Kingsport. She was a loving wife and mother who truly loved all her grandchildren. Mrs. Kendrick was a dedicated member for over 60 years at Riverside Avenue Baptist Church in Kingsport. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 ½ years, Robert H. Kendrick in July 2016; an infant son, Robert Kendrick, Jr.; a daughter, Linda Kennedy; Ernest and Cora Babb Lane; brothers, Worley, John, and Eddie Lane.
Thelma Kendrick is survived by her son, Chris Kendrick and wife, Stephanie; daughters, Kathy Overbey and husband, Jackie, Sr., Rita Farmer and husband, Bradley III; sisters, Mildred Sampson and Wanda Webb and husband, Roy; grandchildren, Scott Kendrick and wife, Jennifer, Natasha Rowland and husband, Dan, Cora Kendrick, Robert Overbey and wife, Tammy, William Overbey and wife, Terry, Jackie Overbey, Jr. and wife, Wendi, Christie Simpson and husband, Junior, Laura Eastman and husband, Phillip, David Kennedy, Rachel Farmer, Brad Farmer IV and wife, Pam; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and her special friend, Pauline Herndon along with several nieces and one nephew.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday (August 8, 2018) at 1:45 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Evangelist Bob Overbey, officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
