Obituary of Colin C. Green

Colin C. Green 74, of Fort Blackmore, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 after battling Parkinson’s disease. He passed with his loving family by his side. Colin was born on September 1st, 1944 and was a lifelong resident of Fort Blackmore, Virginia. He retired from Joy Manufacturing in 2004 after 23 years of employment. Colin graduated from Dungannon High School in 1962. He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Colin was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mae Green; brother, John Green.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Janice Pierson Green, 3 children, Kevin (Paula) Green, Lori (Kenny) Dingus, and Reggie (Wendy) Green; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Olivia, Chase, and Evan Green; sister, Shirley Pierson; brother, Leon Green; special cousin, Bobbie Johnson; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home. A masonic funeral service will follow in the chapel with the Masonic Rites performed by the Fincastle Lodge #33 and Pastor Billy Byrd officiating. Music will be provided by Belle Byrd.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Holston view Cemetery with Pastor Jackie McGowan officiating. Family and close friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am to go in procession.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff on W3 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Advanced Home Health Care, and a special thanks, to Dr. Todd Cassell.
