Obituary of James Blanton

Church Hill-  James Henry Blanton, 64, of Church Hill, went to be with his Heavenly Father early Wednesday morning (January 16, 2019) at Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Washington Court House, Ohio and attended Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphan Home in Xenia, Ohio.  James lived in Lima and Toledo, Ohio the majority of his life.  Mr. Blanton was a long time and devoted truck driver being contracted by Transport Service for several years.  He was a independent driver for K-Limited in Toledo, Ohio prior to joining the Transport Service team.  James loved to do carpentry work, was an avid golfer, and especially enjoyed the outdoors.  He attended McPheeter’s Bend Baptist Church. 

James Blanton is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 5 years, Sharon Kincheloe Blanton; a daughter, Kristi Blanton Gipson; his son, James (Jay) Blanton; a step-son, Ethan Bellamy and wife, Avari; his step-daughter, Jessie Bellamy; seven grandchildren, Octavia, Kylie, Daylen, Laken, Jade, Michael, and Summer; a sister, Kandy Houck and husband, Ronnie; his brothers, Tommy Blanton, Frankie Dunn, and Doug Dunn; his extended family, Betty Kincheloe, Mark Kincheloe and wife, Melanie, Debbie Morelock and husband, John along with several nieces, nephews, beloved friends, and dear neighbors. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday (January 19, 2019) from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence.  A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday (January 19, 2019) at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Heath Smith, officiating.  A graveside service will follow the funeral on Saturday at McPheeter's Bend Community Cemetery with Mark Kincheloe, Ethan Bellamy, John Morelock, Tommy Blanton, Ronnie Houck, and Frankie Dunn serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Dotson, Ray Joinson, Phil Easler, Richard Stidham, and Scotty Mendenhall.
