Obituary of Nell McClellan

Gate City-  Nell McClellan, 91, of Gate City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon (April 2, 2019) at Nova Health Care. 

She was born in Garvin, Oklahoma and had resided in this area since the early 1950’s.  Nell was a member of Gate City United Methodist Church where she was very active for many years.  Mrs. McClellan along with her husband, Harry was very active in the Eastman Rock Club.  Following retirement, she loved to support her grandsons in all their endeavors. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry Nelson McClellan; an infant daughter, Joan McClellan; a great granddaughter, Anna Mac Hill; her parents, G.C. and Beulah Porter; a brother, O.T. Porter.

Nell McClellan is survived by her daughter, Nelda Hill and her husband, E. C.; her grandsons, Garin Hill and wife, Rachel, Trevor Hill and wife, Julia; four great grandchildren, Tirzah, Isaac, Micah, and Eli Hill.  A heartfelt thank-you goes out to the entire staff at Nova Healthcare for the special care and attention for so many years that was given to Nell. 

A visitation will be held on Friday (April 5, 2019) from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Nelda Hill. 

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday (April 5, 2019) at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Debord and Rev. Gordon McBride, officiating.  Music will be provided by her grandson and great granddaughter, Trevor and Tirzah Hill. 

A graveside service will follow the funeral service on Thursday (April 5, 2019)at Holston View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
