Obituary of Mary Powers

MARY  POWERS

Kingsport-  Mary Bentley Powers, 78, of Kingsport, went to be with Lord on Tuesday night (April 9, 2019) at Indian Path Medical Center following an extended illness.  Mary lived the majority of her life in this area.  She retired from Holston Valley Medical Center and was a member of Darthula Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nathan Powers, Sr.; her parents, Henry and Rosa Bentley; brothers, Larry Bentley and Jerry Bentley.

Mary Powers is survived by her children, John Stapleton and wife, Donna, James Powers, Jr., Terry Lawson, Randy Lawson, Lisa Riner and husband, Dee; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; her brothers, Layton Bentley and wife, Brenda, J.W. Bentley and wife, Wanda, Jimmy Bentley along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday (April 12, 2019) from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Darthula Baptist Church. 

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday (April 12, 2019) at Darthula Baptist Church with Pastor Layton Bentley and Rev. J.W. Bentley officiating. 

A graveside service will follow the service on Friday (April 12, 2019) at Darthula Baptist Church Cemetery.
