Obituary of George Dee Housewright

Mr. George Dee Housewright, 67, of Kingsport passed away Wednesday September 5, 2019, in Holston Valley Medical Center.

George was born in Hamilton, OH. He was the son of Hugh and Zeda  Housewright. George graduated from Church Hill High School. He worked at Holston Valley Medical Center for 43 years.

He enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and traveling. He was a member of Holston Lodge # 559 F&AM, York Rite 688, Lifetime Member & Hall of Fame Kingsport Bowling Assoc., lifetime member Moose Lodge 972, and Altrusa Club of Kingsport. He attended Heritage First Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Edward Housewright, Jr. and Donald Eugene Housewright; one sister, Carolyn Sue Housewright.

Survivors include his wife Sarah Housewright; son, Kenneth Wayne Housewright; sister, Ruby Darlene Housewright Adkins and her husband, Gerald; several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Heritage First Church of God or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A graveside service for Mr. George Dee Housewright will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, September 8, 2019, in the Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pastor Steve Tilley will officiate. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 2:50 PM Sunday.
