Obituary of Maggie Hyatt

Maggie Hyatt 79, of Jonesborough went to be with the Lord and her husband on Saturday, May 9, 2020 with her family by her side. She was a faithful Christian and a devoted Pastor’s wife for 54 years. Maggie especially enjoyed working in her garden and her flowers. She was a loving mother, mamaw, granny, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. M.D. Hyatt; parents, William Wrightly and Dora Sanders Tipton; sisters, Hazel, Faye, Sue, and Dorothy; brothers, Ray, Dee, and Howard.

Survivors include her daughters, Shelby Baldridge and husband Hillary and Brenda Miller and husband Terry; grandchildren, Kimberly Coomer and husband Dustin, Michael Montgomery and fiancé Taylor, Matthew Montgomery and wife Whitney, Nathaniel Brewer and wife Jeanna, and LaBreeska Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Hall, Corey and Waylon “ Way-Way” Coomer, Brayden, Brooklyn, Averie, and Bryson Montgomery, Novalea and Stetson Brewer; sisters, Thelma Presnell and Oakie Ramey; brothers, Paul Tipton and Joe Tipton and wife Geneva; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Gravel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Boones Creek. A funeral service will follow with Pastor David Montgomery and Bro. Jeff Wilson officiating. Music will be provided by the Dolen Family.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Tipton’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Dustin Coomer, Michael Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, Nathaniel Brewer, David DeBord, and David Tipton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Miller and Hillary Baldridge II. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45pm.
