Obituary of Godfrey Garfield "Curley" Monroe

Godfrey Garfield “Curley” Monroe, 87, of Mount Carmel, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Orchard Place, Kingsport.

He was the son of the late Clyde and Offa Monroe.

He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. He retired from Eastman Kodak, after thirty-four years of service as an electrician. He attended Lewis Lane Baptist Church.

He enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, his wife Phyllis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Ann.

Survivors include his loving wife Phyllis Arnott Monroe of fifty-seven years; one sister, Phyllis Monroe Hawlsee; one brother, Earl Monroe and his wife Ann.

A private military graveside service will be conducted on Monday, May 18, 2020, in the Ross Camp Ground Cemetery. Scott Byerley will provide the eulogy.
