Many wonderful memories of George, particularly at area horse shows and visits to his riding ring and barn. Our daughters Kit and Lee especially loved the visits, and loved George, or "Leonard" as they called him. He was always so helpful with the kids and teaching them how to ride. And a good neighbor. On one occasion, one of our cows from "The Bald Spot" which had escaped shortly after delivery by the livestock auction company, and lived wild on the side of Bays Mountain for almost 2 years, started visiting his barn to eat any leftover hay or grain. George managed to trap her in the barn one night. George called me and said it was the wildest animal he had ever seen. I went over to George's and watched as 4 or 5 men loaded the cow in a truck to take back to Jim Dobbins at the auction company. It was quite an event. Our thoughts and best wishes to Norma and Kim. Those were really good times.
