Obituary of Ida Louise McGhee

Ida Louise McGhee, 79 went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Ida was born on May 18, 1944 in Kingsport. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Ida was a homemaker, worked at Sears, and loved spoiling her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her children, David McGhee Jr.  and Davona McGhee Walls.

Surviving are her husband, David McGhee; daughter, Becky Carter and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Jese Smith, Sarah Carter, Cody Walls and wife Kaitlin; Ethan Walls and wife Marlene; along with her great-grandchildren, Darcy Smith, Aspen Walls, and Olivia Ann Walls.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Hermon United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the McGhee family.
