Obituary of Darwin Leonard

DARWIN (JOE) LEONARD Kingsport- Darwin K. (Joe) Leonard, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday night (October 6, 2014). He was born in Kingsport and had resided in San Diego, California the majority of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Joe worked for over 25 years as a police officer with the San Diego Police Department. Following retirement, he belonged to several churches in the area and the most recent being Come as You Are Ministry in Kingsport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Leonard; an infant son, Scotty Leonard; parents, Raleigh and Bonnie Leonard; a sister, Sheila Boggs. Joe Leonard is survived by his brother, Randall Leonard along with several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday (October 9, 2014) at 10 am at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Preacher Bart Fowler, officiating. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
