Obituary of Marie Brown Winstead

June Marie Brown Winstead, 86 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (September 10, 2014) at Holston Manor Nursing Home. Marie was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Tennessee (Kingsport). She was retired from Nettie Lee Dress Shop in downtown Kingsport. She also worked at the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Winstead (Nov. 2008); her parents, Walter R. and Daisey Hancock Brown; two brothers, Gene Brown and Ronald K. Brown and a sister, Shirley Hinkle. Survivors include her brother, Vernon Brown & wife, Lorraine of Kingsport; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday (September 12, 2014) from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A funeral will be in the chapel at 2 pm with Pastor Will Shewey, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Winstead family.
