Obituary of Carmilla B. Martin

Carmilla B. Martin, age 87, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, August 11, 2014, at Remington House in Kingsport. She was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church and the Tennessee Order of the Eastern Star, 198 Liberty Chapter in Kingsport. She loved painting, cooking, singing, sewing and was a devoted homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James "Jim" Edward Martin; and several other loved ones. She is survived by 3 children, Teena Lineberger and husband, Mickey; Tim Martin and wife, Robin; and Teri LaFerney and husband, Don Jr.; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, several loving in-laws, a niece and a host of friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6:00 pm with Rev. Greg DePriest officiating. Special music will be provided by Tyla and Jason Boyd. A private graveside service will be held at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests floral arrangements be sent to a local nursing home or assisted living facility. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is honored to serve the Martin family.
