Obituary of Lois Carter

Lois McMurray Carter, 83, of Hiltons, passed away peacefully Monday (July 28th, 2014) at the home of her daughter. She was a lifelong member of New Hurland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arch J. and Grace E. McMurray; brother, Jerry McMurray; two sisters, Faye Hobbs and Vivian McMurray Lois is survived by her children, Roger Carter and wife Tammy, Kaye Barger and husband Randall, both of Hiltons; Jeff Carter, Blountville and Karen Starnes and husband Mark, Kingsport; two grandchildren, Stephanie Meade and husband Aaron and Dustin Carter and wife Holly; three great grandchildren, Luke Stokes, Brooke Stokes and Rayanne Carter; two sisters, Gertrude Jennings, Gate City and Audrey Richards and husband Pat, Clyde, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews A family graveside service was conducted this morning at Gardners Chapel Cemetery. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Carter family.
