Obituary of Redia Sue Pearcy

Redia Sue Pearcy, 74 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, March 8, 2104 at Greystone Healthcare, Blountville. Over the years, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning and gardening. She also enjoyed singing (she was an alto) both in the choir and with the family members in the Church. She was a very proud mother of her son. Sue became a member of Springdale Baptist Church where she made a very dear friend in Eva Mae Buckles. Preceded in death by her mother and father, Marshall and Stella Collingsworth; her sister, Martha Pearl; and four brothers, Thomas J., Ballard, Lloyd, and Jerry Collingsworth. Surviving are her son, Marsh "J.R." Pearcy, Jr, and girlfriend, Deborah; her special grand dog, "Maggie" whom she loved very much; her sisters, Opal Bishop, Frankie Hicks, Delilah (Raleigh) Way, Madge (C.P.) Bledsoe and brothers, Paul (Carol) Collingsworth and Brad (Ruby) Collingsworth. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Monday, March 10, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Glenn Hicks and Alan Buckles, officiating. Music will be provided by Igeary Pearcy and Rick Sheets. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Cemetery, Kingsport. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am. The family would like to say a very Special Thank You to the Nursing Staff of Greystone Heathcare in Blountville for their love and care.
