Obituary of Bonnie Fugate

BONNIE HARPER FUGATE Hiltons - Bonnie Harper Fugate, 90, of Hiltons, VA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, (February 14, 2014) at her residence. She was born June 15, 1923 in Hiltons where she lived most of her life. She attended Barkers Chapel and Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church where she taught children's Sunday School for many years. In her later years she was not able to attend church, so she read her bible and sang songs at home every morning. She often said she and her Lord had church together that day. She was employed by Tennessee Eastman Company as a floor lady in the twisting department prior to becoming a full time mother and wife. She loved to walk and work in her garden and yard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Harrison Moody and Laura Ethel Larkey Moody husband, Vernon Bo Fugate; brother, Russel Moody; sister, Ruby Vicars. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Carol Davis of Ohio; granddaughter, Kristin Michelle Davis Everhart and husband Johnny; great grandson, Harper Everhart; in addition Bonnie leaves behind many good friends in the Hiltons Community and in the Big Moccasin Community where she and Bo lived. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Monday February 17, 2014 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City. A service will follow at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Milligan Herron, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Holston View Cemetery. Friends and neighbors will serve as pallbearers. Anyone who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Fugate family.
