From grade school to high school, Katie was a true friend. Never has a sweeter more compassionate person walked the earth. Her loss will be felt by many. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My condolences to the family of Katie. She and her family and my family went to Cedar View Church when we were younger. She invited me to her house lots of times after church on Sundays until service on Sunday night. She was a very good friend to me and her family always welcomed me. I have god memories of that time. We, of course, lost touch over the years but I still cherish the times we had. She would have remembered me as Janice Rowland. May God be with the family during this time of sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you.

Janice - Katie to me all of my life - was the one person on this Earth that I knew loved me more than anything else in this world. No one will ever know what this loss is like and how it will impact my life forever. Her phone calls which brightened every moment, her visits with me, her encouragement in the darkest times of my life and joy in all the rest will leave me empty for evermore. I will never forget you and the love you gave to me. God Bless you Katie and I look forward to seeing you again! Love always - Paupie

I am so very sorry for your loss of Katie. From the time I was a small child through my early teens I used to spend most every weekend with a relative that was a neighbor of Katie's & her parents. I enjoyed visiting them every Saturday just to check on them & say hi. I am also the youngest sister in my family same as Katie was. Katie was always so sweet to me. She used to take me to the movies and we went to all the carnivals, & sometimes just shopping, or sometimes we just listened to her records. She was like having another sister for me but instead she liked me being around! I used to go with her to visit her niece Paula sometimes when she was little. Occasionally I would even stay all night with them on Saturdays & go to church with them on Sunday mornings. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to see her in many years, but I will always cherish the memories of the many happy & fun times we shared.
