Obituary of Mabel Rogers

Mabel Redwine Rogers passed away on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Born on February 2, 1920 in Clinchport, VA she was the youngest of 7 sisters known as the "Redwine Girls" all were beautiful both inside and out. Mabel was always full of laughter and those who were privileged to know her were truly blessed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Nettie Falin Redwine; her first husband, Edgar Jones (killed in War World II) her beloved husband, Ralph Rogers; six sisters, Ruth Cooper, Blanche Wampler Reed, Fannie Smith, Dorothy Bell, Nell Hess and Imogene Campbell. She is survived by her devoted son, David Rogers of Johnson City, TN; several nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Louise Dorton. According to her wishes, Mabel will be interred in a private graveside service. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the family of Mabel Rogers.
