Obituary of Vina Lou Hoard

Vina Lou Hoard, 79, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord Monday Morning, November 11, 2013 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Edison, Tennessee, raised in Rogersville, Tennessee and had lived in Kingsport for the past 55 years. Mrs. Hoard was retired from the Mead Corp. She attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hoard, Sr.; grandchildren, Tamara Wolfe, an infant baby girl Wolfe and Brandon Barnett; parents, Nicholas and Cora McKinney; four sisters, Lillie McKinney, Josephine Sensabaugh, Geraldine McKinney and Mary Jennings; three brothers, Hobert McKinney, Nicholas McKinney and John McKinney. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Deborah (Christopher) Benjamin, Beverly Barnett and Tracey McKinney; her son, Jeffrey McKinney; grandchildren, Leslie Barnett, Lamar Barnett, André McKinney; great grandchildren, David Barnett, Darius Barnett; sister, Carrie Mae Rogers and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 noon on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1026 Maple Street, Kingsport, TN 37660. A Going Home service will be held at 12 noon at the church with Pastor James A. Whiteside, officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Carter-Trent Funeral Home is serving the family of Vina Lou Hoard.
