Obituary of Jimmy F. Laughlin

Jimmy F. Laughlin, 73, born August 19, 1940, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2013 at Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center surrounded by his family. Jim was in the Army National Guard from 1959 to 1965. He was retired from Burlington Industries, Bristol, TN. Jim was a member of Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. His favorite hobbies were raising produce and sharing with people he loved. He will always be known for his witty disposition. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Kate Laughlin in 2002, his dad, Lindsey Laughlin in 1973; his wife, Donna Laughlin in 1993 and a sister Shirley McMurray Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly Rose Laughlin Robinson of Church Hill; two sons, Gregory D. Laughlin & wife Amy of Church Hill and Jimmy Scott Laughlin of Blountville; five grandchildren, Emily Kate Laughlin of Kingsport, Landon Robinson of Gate City, Lauren Stanley, Lucas Laughlin and Audrey Laughlin, all of Church Hill; one sister, Lou McMurray of Bristol; and two brothers, Darrell Laughlin & wife Patsy of Kingsport, Lee Roy Laughlin & wife Linda of Bristol. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, Hiltons, VA or anytime at the home of his son, Greg. A funeral service will follow in the church with Elder Greg Hill and Rev. Roger Smith, officiating. Honorary Ministers, Elder Bobby Carter and Rev. Clarence Huffman. Congregational singing will be led by Don Bays. Burial will be at Gardner's Cemetery, Hiltons, VA. Pallbeares will be his cousins and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to; Wellmont Hospice, especially Susanna; to Church Hill Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, and to Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center (4th floor), especially, Jennifer McConnell.
