Obituary of Dallas Eugene Elam

Gate City - Dallas Eugene Elam, 66 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Nova Health and Rehab in Weber City. He was born in Russell County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. and Clydie Johnson Elam; brother, Glen Elam. Dallas is survived by his wife of 37 years, Anna Hartsock Elam of the home; sister, Joyce "Joy" Elam of Dungannon; brothers, James Elam of Duffield and J. L. Mitchell and wife Stella of Dungannon; sister-in-law, Gladys Elam; several nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts, Dolly McConnell of Yuma and Ella Mae Elam of Castlewood. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home, 2060 Hwy 23N, Weber City, VA. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Guy Elam officiating. Music will be provided by Guy and Trish Elam. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grassy Creek Cemetery in Russell County, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Nova Health and Rehab, Peggy, Sarge and Jason to special caregiver and niece, Jan Kennedy.
